A bit of a departure from our primarily tech-focused content, but we really enjoyed Howard Mark’s latest memo riffing on Morgan Housel’s post called “How I Think About Debt.” Mr. Marks provides valuable insights into the role of debt in business growth and financial risk management. The post emphasizes the importance of making informed financing decisions and preparing for economic downturns. Important topics for business owners of all shapes and sizes. Debt is not a bad thing, but it must be “appropriate relative to (a) the size of the overall enterprise and (b) the potential for fluctuations in the enterprise’s profitability and asset value.”
